The Incident
While guarding a preschool in Portland, Oregon, Eric Salisbury observed a man, later identified as Manuel Garza, driving erratically through the preschool’s parking lot. After Mr. Garza parked in a neighboring parking lot, Mr. Salisbury approached Mr. Garza’s vehicle to record his license plate. However, Mr. Garza exited his vehicle and charged Mr. Salisbury. Mr. Salisbury, in fear of his life, discharged his firearm in self-defense. Mr. Garza later died in the hospital from his wounds.
